When I was a kid growing up near NYC,I loved to watch Zacherly "The Cool Ghoul"! He had his own show on WWOR Channel 9 when I was little and then in the mid 60's took over "Chiller Theater" on WPIX Channel 11.
Zach he is still alive and undead! He will be appearing at The Chiller Theater Expo this weekend!
This from his early 60s show on WOR
Zach on Mike Douglas
Zack exerpts from "American Scary"
This was from his Halloween show in 1967 with The BoxTops
Wish I could have seen Vampira's show too. My only memories of her are from "Plan 9 from Outer Space" They used some clips from that movie in the beginning montage of "Chiller Theater"

“'What was that note?' I told him it was a B natural, the third of G dominant 7 going back to C minor, and I can't talk while I'm playing so don't ask me any more questions." - Ron Carter to Miles Davis

Jeff, no Sir Graves Ghastly in your youth?
We've got a local guy still doing this kind of thing.
I first saw this guy singing in a Potbelly Sandwich shop in Dearborn and have since seen him "entertaining" at haunted houses in Detroit.
