hi to you all, marco from italy here. this is my first post in this amazing forum. i play a 1980 mapleglo rick 4001. after playing it a lot for five years now i want to give this bass a more powerful sound. i have done the bypass surgery to the third capcitor of the bridge pickup with really good results. now i wait for your suggestion about changing the pickups. which pickup do you suggest? where can i buy the rickembacker humbuckers? what about the toaster and the horseshoe? which sound can i have from these pickups? many thanks and cheers from italy

Personally, I suggest if you want a more powerfull sound, look into active pickups. I've never fooled around with actives before, so I cannot suggest any brand name. Ask around at your local music dealers. As for the Rickenbacker humbuckers, if you don't have a dealer near you, you can mail them at:
Rickenbacker International Corporaion
3895 South Main Street
Santa Ana, California 92707

or

Rickenbacker International (U.K.)
205 Manchester Road
Bury, Lancashire BL9 9HL

Or, just go to their web site at http://www.rickenbacker.com
