Finally!!!!!

The metal plate came this way. It comes off with the bridge. It is a separate piece. There was a bass on ebay not too long ago that had a similar piece just longer under the bridge. If I elect to put the original back on, no one would ever know that this had been done. I luuurve reversible mods. It also has schaller M-4 tuners ( I think) on it. They are the small shaft tuners. I have all the original pieces for this bass so no biggie.

This one above is a 1980 4003. As you can see, it needs some love. I have a tailpiece coming and a wiring harness thanks to 2 fine gents on this forum. I need to work out some pickups because what you see are Barts and I do not widh to use them. I also need to get my hands on a pickguard. (For those of you with a 2 piece guard bass, please email me off the forum...I have a question for you...)

I'd put 4004 humbuckers in it. They're all I use in my Rickys. The neck pickup location is a drop in although you'll need to tappthe adjusting screw holes for machine threads. For the rear I made a custom pickup mount from black acrylic and epoxy'd a threaded insert at either end for the pickup to go on. Then I put on a new handrest/pickup cover and dropped it into a new pickup ring. It looks totally factory and IMHO is a better, more rounder sound than the high gain. I did this on my 3000/5 string and my 3400 fretless(picks comming soon).

I am watching the image here but it has some notable wear on the back of the neck especially....
