Played a 360 for the first time today

Post by NFB-418 »

I was at my local guitar shop today and had the pleasure of playing a 360 (6)(FG). I expected the guitar to be heavy, but it was relatively light weight. Of course, I play a 4003 and RIC basses definitely have some heft to them so I was going off of that experience. Anyway, I had a great time playing that guitar and didn't want to put it down.

The shop had a nice selection of 360s: 3 new 6 stringers in Mid-Blue, FG and MG; 1 new 12 stringer in FG, and 1 used 350 Liverpool in FG. All at reasonable prices, I believe. PM me if you're interested in knowing the name of the shop.
“'What was that note?' I told him it was a B natural, the third of G dominant 7 going back to C minor, and I can't talk while I'm playing so don't ask me any more questions." - Ron Carter to Miles Davis

It's almost two month since your first experiences with 360's... and by now the incubation has ended - and therefore you need a 360 madly. And there's no cure... muuuuaaaarrrrrrggghhhhhhhhh.... except a 360 FG :D

My first one was a 360/6 FG, too.

If it is in good condition to play it, it is like to be one together with the guitar.
The 360/6 is a good first step into the world of Rickenbacker six stringers. In using it is not a diva, it is a perfect fitting workhorse!

My first Rick guitar was a new fireglo 360 I bought around '83. Long gone, unfortunately.

I recently saw a country band where the rythm guitar platyer had a 360/6 FG. I thought that was quite original since you would normally see Telecaster, Stratocaster, or Gibson Les Paul. Apparently this player liked his Ric, since that was all that he played on all night. The Fireglow looked quite cool amongst the fiddle, Fender bass, Stratocaster, and hot chick on the stage.
