Can anyone confirm what paperwork should come with the 370/12rm and also what case was it supplied with
I have been looking for one of these guitars for some time now and have managed to find a nice clean RM12 at a descent price but it looks like the certificate of authenticity may have been lost
Would this de-value the guitar in any way and is it possible to get a copy of the paperwork that is missing from RIC ?

You can't get another COA alas, but RIC customer service will send you a letter saying that the guitar with the serial number Xx XXX is number 37 of a limited edition of 250 guitars... etc.

At one time when they weren't so popular, I had three RMs. I have since sold them all but I did keep one of the COAs I had framed. I actually forgot it was on the wall when I shipped the guitars off to Gruhn's to sell for me but was never asked for it. So I know at least one RM floating around out there has no COA and I suspect there are many more. (and no I don't want to sell the COA... I have been asked before). I got a Carl Wilson 6-string with no COA and Rickenbacker confirmed through the serial number it was a LE CW and sent me a letter saying my guitar was indeed one of the LE series. They won't issue a new COA but they may send a letter if you ask them. But the best way is to run the number through the serial decoder and take it from there. Other than that, I think there was a tag or brochure about using the onboard compressor. And then the signature pick guard. That's about it. Good luck with the purchase of the RM. Wish I had kept one!

Just had confirmation that there is no paperwork , just the guitar with correct pick guard , case and cleaning cloth
I have just ran the number through the serial decoder and all is well ( no 76 of 1000 ) or there abouts will double check this
Looks like my only choice is to get on to RIC customer services for a letter and maybe look for a copy of the RM instruction manual
Before I forget ....Was it a standard RIC case or did the ltd editions come with something different ?

The RMs came with the very nice Vintage reissue silver Tolex guitar case. I know the RIC site says a hardshell case, but all of mine were the SIlver Tolex. 12-saddle bridge is something to look for too. That was pretty new then, I think.

Check out the price back then: The list price is $1,399, with a custom hardshell case at $129. An optional version without enhanced electronics is available at $1,299.

I found some guy in England who had like 6 brand new ones and they weren't popular there. He wanted to get rid of them. I bought three for $1000 each if I remember right. I kept them for a couple of years and played one a LOT. One I never even touched or tightened the strings. Sent them all to Nashville where George Gruhn got a pretty good price for me for them. I shoulda hung on to them, eh?

If you can get that one, I'd do it. Fun RIC to have.
