I like the Editors' song "Munich". . . well, actually I think I like all of their stuff. They sound a lot like Interpol to my ear. Another obviously 80s alternative/new wavy-inspired band; embedding not allowed. JG Rick 620 and 4003 here.

Hmm. I'm not a huge fan of them when they overuse Synths, but I like the guitar oriented stuff. I wish I could have seen them when they opened for REM, but instead saw Modest Mouse open for REM.

Close to being good, but can't he sing like someone other than Ian Curtis? The voice ruins it for me.
