Re: Sweetheart of the Rodeo
This is one of my all time favorite albums.
Re: Sweetheart of the Rodeo
Funny, I've had this in the player all week. My 12 year old instantly gravitated towards "100 years" and loves singing and playing it with me on his guitar. This is the most recent Byrds I've become familiar with. I also dig Gram, very pure and clean voice. I like about half the record...meaning that they had not peaked here for me.
The singing is just superb overall. There is an ever so slight element of "Trying to be country" to it, and I'm not sure I can articulate it....a thickness and busyness in the some of the arrangements?? anyone?
People at work think Im nuts, blurting out "In the blue Canadian Rockies!!" at random times in the day.
I would certainly hold to the aliens of the universe, that the steel playing of Lloyd Green from those sessions to be some of our finest and tastee!
