It works, I have done so a few times. 8) Regular slip-joint pliers, not the needlenose variety.

Oh, it will work, but some modifications are needed:

Thomas, if you need some of the 10-24 screws let me know, I have a box of them (unmodified - you would have to file the heads down yourself).
