Guadalcanal Diary live in 2011

Post by analogpackrat »

Man, I would really have liked to have seen one of these shows...I know there are a couple of other GD fans around here, so enjoy.

The 365 comes out for these:

Looks like RM1993:

Mr. Attaway's voice isn't quite the same, but what a band and "Litany," what a song! It was always hard to sing that opening note. I saw them on the 2x4 tour in '87 or '88. REM spawned all my cow-punk faves, including the Diary, the Scorchers, the Ryders, etc.!

Thanks for the videos! I was at the AthFest show, and these videos do not convey what really happened. GD tore it up. It was a great show, they were tight and sounded fantastic.

Thanks so much for posting Doug. One of my favorite bands. I appreciate it. Love the song "whiskey talk" among others.

Doug a great thanks for posting...So digging the footage!
I was a college DJ in the 80's and played the heck outta that first record! Quite a powerful sound...a good live mix would make a believer of anyone too!

I tried to buy Rhett Crowe's 4005 some time ago and he had just sold it at the time.

Used to play GD all the time in the late 80's. Loved Walking In The Shadow.

Heck yeah.....flip flop, 2x4, Walking in the shadow of a big man. You can't go wrong. Those are epic records that I wore out in my cassette player.
