Are the checker-bound soundhole and headstock original?

Also, AFAIK, the Ac'cent VB was pretty much gone as a factory option by 1970 or so.

Get out the jigsaw on the sound hole. I love the checkerboard binding on headstock. Nice custom color. 35,000 pesos maybe. Good luck with 35k IMO. Never can tell.

You'd think for 35K one would demonstrate that the neck can handle tension on the strings. What's up with that?

The grain of the wood inside the slash ("soundhole") appears to match that outside of it. It may be a soundhole-shaped inlay not a bound soundhole.

+1, that was my first and still impression of the "sound hole".

Very strange. Shaded-blue, which I didn't know they did that late...unless it was resprayed? Or a factory leftover...

And Van Ghent tuners to boot. It may not be worth 35k but it's not gonna be cheap.

I've seen at least one more instrument with that non-soundhole. Mile Parks owns it. Transluscent Red 365. I think I remember another one too, in Azure-glo. Cool.

Besides the rounded "F" series, this is the most unique Rickenbacker I may have ever seen...so somber blue, but great!
