To me, it appears to be a shadow cast by the stage lights positioned to her front and overhead. In other words, there's no mod to the guitar. It's the same trick of the lights that was noticed in the recent George Harrison 360 thread.

On another note, it looks like Ms. Love's been doing her sit-ups.
