And Your Bird Can Sing guitar stuff..

Post by prjacobs »

Hi all,
Sitting around with a bad cold, so I'm going through some old files. Here's most of the guitar parts from And Your Bird Can Sing. Measures 1 - 5 are the opening parts. I was concerned about room, so I skipped the guitar licks in the first verse. You can basically find them in the intro. For the solo, skip 5 and go to the 2nd ending on measure 6. Measures 10 - 17 are the parts for the G# minor section. After that go to the top and play the solo with the 2nd ending. Measures 18 - 21 are the ending riffs. The A chord that I wrote out for the last measure not the exact ending. It goes on longer....
Anyway...

Thanks so much for this, I have wanted my band to do this song for a long time, now. With your help we may actually get around to doing so. 8)

Cool... When I play this, I take my capo and put it on the second fret, except I leave the low E string open. So the strings are - from low to high, E,B,E, A,C#, F#. That way, if you play what would be a basic D chord without the capo, you get a really rich sounding E chord because you use all 6 strings. (E,B,E,B,E,G#)... Works great for the other chords as well.
I also do this for Norwegian Wood.

I worked the song out by ear....been playing bars for 40 years.....takes longer to learn ear training, but once you break the code, it so much easier than trying to read music. Besides, I'm no good at math..... :(

You have know the guitar neck, the notes and riffs, and you get them by listening to a song and finding the key it's in first.....

George Harrison played guitar like very few others....his most important work was done with his right picking hand.....entire solos of his consist of notes within a chord.....i.e., "Nowhere Man"...the whole solo orbits around the first position E chord....
