I know this was mentionned in another thread but, I took a moment to listen to a little bit of their stuff this am and it was interesting. Really 70's prog...The Rick bass ALWAYS rocks in prog. Time to write a song.....

Jaymi, you are so right. Gary Strater was a phenomenal player at that time; I remember listening to his Ric for hours and hours. Still have the 33 1/3 RPM vinyls. Tried to get in touch with him thru the Starcastle website, but no response. He has been seriously ill so I didn't really expect anything back. Keep listening; I don't think we're going to hear "that sound" of Squier, Camp and Strater again.

Sadly, we won't hear the sound of Strater again; he passed away last month. Details, tributes, and some pictures at:

I just downloaded "Lady of the Lake", I had'nt heard it for years, really brought back memories, its a real shame Gary's gone. He was a great player, and should have gotten more respect and exposure in the bass world. Image
