Ric 360 wiring
Just bought a 2004 360/6 Mapleglo--I am at least the 2nd or 3rd owner of this guitar. I was worried that at least one of the pickups was dead. Upon further investigation, I get nothing from the mono jack, but both pickups work if I plug a mono or stereo cable into the stereo jack. When I do this both pickups work the same if the pickup 3 way selector switch is in the middle or down position--the up position turns both pickups off completely. This has obviously been tinkered with and seems to have at least one wire crossed up. Sounds like it should be a simple solution but I'm just not seeing it.
Ideally I'm trying fix everything back to function properlly as originally intended. I attached a pic that I hope works & helps resolve this issue. Thanks.

Re: Ric 360 wiring
I suppose it would also depend on how the jacks are wired. Try checking out the schematic at www.rickenbacker.com and see if that helps.

Re: Ric 360 wiring
Check the wiring on the treble tone pot (the one with the writing).
Re: Ric 360 wiring
If you're getting output from both pickups when you plug a mono cable into the stereo jack, something is definitely up -- with the standard Rick-o-Sound wiring you should only be getting the neck p/u.
Re: Ric 360 wiring
Maybe it is just the pics, but many of those solder joints look "cold" to me. Plus it appears that the excess flux was not cleaned up. I agree with Paul on that one pot. It is still hard to see though. A pic of the output jacks would help.

Re: Ric 360 wiring
I have the 360 wiring harness schematic, though I'm not an expert at interpreting it. An acquaintance of mine who is said he could take a look at next Tues. afternoon.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Re: Ric 360 wiring
360 wiring problem solved. One bad solder joint on pickup lead wire to pot causing it to ground out. Works perfect now. Fixed in 15 min. with schematic & proper testing equipment, but days communicating back & forth with tech to find mutually common free time--which was not easy during this holiday season. Thanks.

Glad to hear that it's working correctly now!

Next, you will want to add a push-pull to the 5th knob for the .0047 to the bridge pickup to have the option of in-or-out. Just let me know if you want my diagram.
