What kind of guitar is this? a Greco?

Post by jdogric12 »

I bought this about 10 years ago IIRC and was told it's a late 60's Greco Jazzmaster. Seeing as how it seems to look more like a Jaguar, that's what I've been calling it lately. But I'm not really sure. What the heck is it? Anyone here know? Pic 1708 is closest to the actual color. Thanks, J

I don't know, but I know that their vibrato has been used on lots of different brand '60s instruments.

It's a Greco - Mainstreet Vintage had this one.
I've seen this model with a "St George" name plate as well.

Sounds awesome. Maximum jangle. It was the secret jangle weapon on IRWO's "You Finally Made This Happen."

There is a photo of one in the 2011 Vintage Guitar Price Guide, too.

I even have a photo, in a book, of a 4 pickup version. 8)

Do they give it a model name, or any kind of designation at all? (either the 3- or 4--pu version)
