Ray Bennett - Flash

Post by aceonbass »

Found this cool pick of Ray while trolling the net today. Looks like a '71 21 fretter?

Ray also played in Flash, the band Peter Banks formed after he left Yes. Very Squire-like playing.

...it surely is, as you can recognize by the "dislocated" tailpiece, even if you can't count the frets easily. :D

the 3 Flash albums are excellent-and Ray's bass work on them is just exceptionally great! He is playing guitar in a current version of Flash, and does a good job covering Pete Bank's parts on the old songs. Pete's instrumental solo album had lots of great guest musicians, and lots of great moments of music, but i thought could have used a vocal song to give it some more variety. (altho it has been probably close to 25 years since i've last heard it....i may need to download it and re-visit)
