toaster pickup: pole pieces are flush with back of pickup?

Post by Sir Ricardo »

.

I have this toaster, it came with an older 4001. It looks like there is an extra wire on it....but the thing that is curious is that the pole pieces are flush with the back of the pickup.

What do you think.......is this "normal" ?

thanks much -

Richard

Many early 4001's did come with flat bottom toasters

Hi Richard, that short pole looks typical of ones produced from mid '60's time - see pic below which I took of a 1967 short pole (from a 330) when I disassembled it last year.

Many people, including myself, would give $$$ for a set of toasters with a long magnet for the bridge and a short magnet for the neck, if we had the $$$ to spend on them, could find a seller, etc.
