Places to play - Portland ME down to North Shore MA

Post by rikk »

Not sure if this is the right place for such a post, so if there is a better place please feel free to move it.

My band HydroElectric wants to embark on a small tour of the Seacost region of New England. From Portland,ME down to the North Shore of MA. We are hard rock, 70s rock, stoner rock originals, whatever you want to call it. If Pink Flyod had a kid with Black Sabbath and it's babysitter was Hawkwind, that's what we sound like. In a modern setting that is. We are looking for venues in that area that we would fit into. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. If you want to hear some of our music go to www.hydroelectricmusic.com.

Thanks!

Absolutely...and read the blogs for help.

You wanna map out the tour first with prospective dates and cities you'd like to play that make traveling sense. Another thing is to try and find out who some of the local(to the cities your touring) groups that draw in your genre. Once in a while the clubs might help you with this but, if you do your own research, you can impress the club by knowing the right bands to bill with. Usually they are honored an out of town band asks them to share the bill and will do it. Ideally, you want to sandwich your set between two locals. If they're cool, they may offer places to stay etc.

Best of luck!
