I love those velvet trousers...especially Page's green ones...so cool!

And...is that a cape that JPJ is wearing? That's pretty flamboyant for Jones.

Both the Ric bass & I think the cape is a first for Jonsey! Ive never seen another pic of him wearing a cape.

It's too bad that he decided to lose the Ric. Losing the cape on the other hand was probably a good idea!

Don't get me wrong, I love the guy (he's one of my favourite players). But he should've stuck with the Rick and the cape! Way cooler than the blouse w/the stuffed heart from the Song remains the Same concert film

One vote for the cape!

I could change my mind about the cape. I'll see how I feel tomorrow.

I dunno, he just never came across as a cape kind of guy. 8)

Okay, maybe he can't pull off the cape look. Perhaps knee high boots and a sash akin to say ,Capt. Morgan or Jack Sparrow????

Yes, and I've read interviews where JpJ stated he was trying to go the opposite direction tonally from Squire and Entwistle. so the cape and the Rick would be a confusing paralell. Good thing he switched to blouses and fenders :D

Whoa, those early 4001's look so killer! Love the combined styles of the 4005 and the 4001

Somewhere - maybe on my home computer - there's a picture of JPJ with a 4005. Don't know if it was his or borrowed. Might have been from his session days and not Zep.

Are you sure it isn't this picture in the OP? I have a copy of this photo with a caption that says "JPJ playing a rare Rickenbacher 4005".

HA HA! I think that's got to be the worst misspelling of 'Zeppelin' I've seen yet. With a 'T' no less. But wow - look at all the bands that played there - MC5, The Stooges, Genesis, Jethro Tull....
