The Rick that got away...

Post by Tubescreamer »

I've temporarily misplaced the original negative of this shot. This is a 1968 375 JG that I was forced to part with a few years back. It was all original and a joy to bang on.

According to the serial # (which I'm not able to retrieve right now) it was one of seven jetglo 375s made in 1968. It does look exactly like the ones pictured though. Thanks for the links.

Knowing the SN is the key to getting it back...

Take the Smith book Numbers with a grain of salt!! There may in fact be 30-40 JG 375s from 1968!

But only one of them was yours!

Thanks for the info, Brian. I sold the guitar for a couple of reasons, one being I was offered more than twice the amount I paid for it just a few years earlier, and if it had remained in my possession it would not have remained all original for long. I use and abuse my guitars, and collector pieces belong with collectors. It's always been a 12 string Rick that I've wanted in my arsenal and I have one now, and even though it's beautiful, I don't have to worry about wearing out a trophy guitar. Thanks again.

Happy to help! :D :D

If you do come across the SN of your 375 - I would be grateful for it. We will add it to the register - and it is also how I like to organize the pics n my hard drive!

Happy to hear that you are pleased with your 12 string... It is a JG 660 12???

Yeah, it's a 660-12. It makes a truly wonderful noise.

As far as the old one goes, a local dealer and friend of mine helped me sell it. If I remember right it was to somebody in Wisconsin, so one of those links you provided is probably the current owner.

Confirmed, the guitar I used to own belongs to the guy in Wisconsin.

It's nice to know where it is, thanks.
