Happy Veterans Day
Happy Veterans Day
Thanks to all vets and active duty service members (and your families); you deserve far greater recognition than this, but it's a start.

Thanks Lindsay!
I am a veteran of the Vietnam War, and though it was many years ago, the experience still occupies my mind. How many nights I dreampt of one day owning a 360/12 while in some god forsaken place.
I served 1967-71, and when I got back, one of the first things I did was start saving up for a 360/12. In the meantime, my brother gave me a 4001 bass in trade for a truck. All we ever had over there were cheap acoustic guitars, but it kept us sane in a world of madness. One thing I might add is 'Never again shall one generation of veterans exclude a younger generation of veterans. Despite politics.

Those of us who served our time (as well as those who still are) certainly appreciate this thread. Only by the grace of God did I not go to Vietnam, despite enlisting in the military in 1967 and serving through 1976. But those certainly were not the best of time for those of us in uniform. At least now it seems people are able to separate the politics from those who serve in uniform, thus people continue to support the troops, despite what their opinions might be of the situation in Iraq and elsewhere. Regardless of when you serve(d), we all truly are brothers and sisters. Thanks from a Vet ...

Well said, Brother Paul. I also served during that era (1971-1974). Each week, a new advanced training class would graduate and go to 'Nam. Somehow, my class went to Korea, and the following week they resumed sending the graduates to 'Nam. I know many people who went there and some who never came back. It's nice to see troops returning from Desert Storm & the current operation receiving a well-deserved hero's welcome --- much nicer than being called a baby killer.
If you're feeling a need to work through some of the lingering issues from that episode, I HIGHLY recommend: http://www.intheshadowoftheblade.com/
This is an incredibly moving and illuminating documentary --- I am working up the courage to share it with my kids next.
Regards,
Mark
