X-Ray Spex/Poly Styrene Programme

Loads of stuff on the last couple of Fridays about the Punk period on BBC4 in the UK. Last part this week of a great series.

Last week they also repeated this 1979 Arena portrait of Poly - loads of great footage of the band, bassman Paul Dean with his Azureglo 4001.

The series is called 'Punk Britannia'...will probably show up on YT in time. The was a Punk At The BBC on last week - nearly every band was playing a 4001!

I noticed the amount of Ric basses throughout the entire series of punk Britannia/ Punk at The BBc too. Were they giving them away back then? Maybe all those prog-rockers were either selling their gear and going Fender or else cutting their hair and going Punk?
