Sure is, Jason! Gretsch referred to the enclosed bodied Gretsches as "Electrotone Hollowbodies". This was indeed an attempt to control hollowbody feedback. Chet had a beautiful one-off black 6120 back in the late '50s with gold sparkle nitron F-hole inserts, so he was probably the one who first came up with the idea. I believe Guild also had a fully enclosed "George Barnes" model, but without the silkscreened F-holes.jdogric12 wrote:I'm not crazy about the painted f-holes either.
