Beatles On the AMA's

Post by petevent »

Was it just me, or did anyone else want to slap Jimmy Kimmel for his "Boring" crack after the Beatles clip?

What WAS boring, was having one rap artist after another for the duration of the show.

Just my opinion.

No, it wasn't just you...

..At that very moment, I was commenting to my wife about how much we needed a new t.v. in the living room.... :^)

Kimmel is the typical, casual observer/listener... and just made a flippant comment regarding something he knows nothing about...

I thought the clip of the lads playing She Loves You with the transisiton right into I Want to Hold Your Hand was great!

It was refreshing to see and hear George playing his 360 for a change on these "Gretsch" tunes.

Who's the Jimmy idiot?

He's an "actor" 3rd or 4th tier at best....host of "The Man Show".

Jimmy Kimmel is a throw back to the old mysogenistic days of when men thought only in pairs and couldn't say anything beyond "Honey, bring me a beer."

Here is my qwuestion/comment... ever notice how the awards shows, no w-matter what the award, are no longer hosted by anyone who knows anything about the buisnes (except maybe Billy Crystal)? They all pander to the tv audience by being hosted by a purported "comic".

Jimmy Kimmel has not only "The Man' Show" (should tell you something right there...) but also follows NightLine in most ABC markets with a late night show. It isn't worth watching.

Let's just put it this way... when is Jimmy Kimmel being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame or have his stuff at auction for literally hundreds of thousands of dollars or compose a song such as "Imagine" or "Beautiful Boy" or "Yesterday" or "Here Comes the Sun"?

Who's boring now?

I think he was kidding....since they made quite a big deal about them showing the footage. I don't think he really hated it and since he is a "bring me a beer" kinda guy, it was probably a welcome relief from the Snoop Dogg / Farrell / Kanye West medley.

I thought the entire AMA saga and its pitiful host were BORING --- except for the Beatles tape. It just astounds me that a music awards show hires a non-musical boob to toss out insults about the very people they are honoring.

To pick on Michael Jackson was simply moronic ---he's too easy of a target. And to do it when one of his best friends, Diana Ross, is strolling on stage was embarassing. Same goes for mocking Jessica Simpson when she's making an appearance on stage. Sophmoric "jokes" and insults only serve to degrade the entire affair. Alas, I'm afraid the AMA show was just a waste.

Kimmel's sarcasm was present in his first "major" gig, "Win Ben Stein's Money" on Comedy Central. He and Ben played off each other well enough, but his crudeness grated against my sensitivities even then. I don't know how I would have handled it had I been selected as a contestant when I tried out for the show a number of years ago.

Did anybody record the Beatles performance? If so, can you put it online for the rest of us to see?

The guy dosent even Have the man show anymore, it was cancelled and his Jimmy Kimmel live show was cancelled after this season too also win ben stein's money was cancelled.....The guy is a failure and I dont think the beatles would have taken offense. You need to be able laugh at yourselves, even if you are the greatest band of all time

I did tape it (VHS) and plan on putting it on a DVD. However, I don't think I'd have the storage space and bandwidth on my freebie geocities account to host it.
