Pickups in a Left-Handed Guitar

Post by wmthor »

Are they different from those in a right-handed guitar? I mean, are the pickups designed to favor heavier strings on one side and lighter strings on the other, making them completely different in a lefty setup.

No. They are the same. At least on a Rick.I think
Strat players that have PUs w/"staggered height"
magnetic poles may tell you there can be a difference. Mark? Comments?

The only difference that there is on any brand/supplier of pickups from left handed to right handed is indeed on pickups with staggered preset polepieces.

Any with flat poles ,evenly arched ,or adjustable poles are either right or left handed .There designation comes only from what type of guitar/instrument then end up in .

This is an interesting piece of information for staggered polepiece pickup users....ALL of the staggered pickups ,until recently that were Fender or Fender replacements ....were staggered for a wound G (3rd ) string ....There are now some pickups available with the staggering corrected for a plain G (3rd) ....it only took how many years ?
So you too want yours "ALAPWOB"?!?!
