McCartney US Tour 2005

Post by lowendbob »

Has anyone heard of any tour dates yet? I think it's been confirmed that there will be a 2005 US tour.
Buy it before someone else does.

I receive an e-mail update from Goody Press with nice tidbits of info such as this:

"Paul McCartney said Monday in an interview broadcast on NPR's "All Things Considered" that he plans on touring the United States in September-October 2005."

I hope he tours in Europe too... I saw him twice during the 2003 European Tour... Rome and Budapest. Imagine how beautiful was in Rome with the ancient Colosseo right behind the stage.... unforgettable. Too bad he never playes his rick bass on tour. Maybe it's too heavy for his "old" shoulders :-)

I took my 2 kids (12 & 9) to see "Beethoven" on the 2003 tour and they asked to be taken home an hour into it. They will not be invited to the 2005 tour. They can go see Snoop Diggity Dog.....

What do you guys do when you buy tickets for something like this? Whenever he comes near me, the tickets have either been pre-sold to scalper agencies or there's a line at Tickmaster and the thing sells out in an hour anyway. Do you buy from the agencies?

Embarassingly, yes. I have used a ticket broker. I'm too old to fight the lines or stay on the phone for hours. The concert ticket thing is a joke.

Fortunately in non-english speaking countries like Italy there's no need to fight and to stay hours in the lines for a Paul McCartney big show in a sport arena...As soon as you know he's going to play here just go to a ticket agency and pay the ticket plus a small amount for pre-sale duties

WHAT? No FIGHTING in a ticket line??? What fun is THAT?? Image

Seriously....If the tour comes to D.C., I'll get in line early and save ya'll a spot.....I take up a LOT of space!! Just bring your bass combo's and your various RIC's and we'll have a good old party...

Man, I need some sleep.....

Oh she IS, Francesco!! I couldn't be happier!! This is MY bass!! Put new TI flats on her and she has responded warmly!! Now, I'm just wondering how she'll sound through the vintage SVT and 8/10 cab I'm getting soon.... ;^)

Well he sure could'nt lift that Ric up in the air with one hand on the first fret at the end of a performance the way he has done with the Hofner so many times.

UPDATE:

Heard today on an NFL broadcast that Macca is playing halftime at the Super Bowl!! He won't have his shirt torn off though....

Perfect!! Now all I need is the Eagles and Ravens in the 'bowl and see Macca at halftime and I'm set!!

Chris I can imagine your pride and joy playing your 4005. I love playing mine through one of my ooold vox amps.. I particularly love playing "Revolver" songs... i.e. For No One, And your bird can sing etc..the sound is quite similar to Paul's even if he was playing another bass

anyway I use round wounds on my 4005...I am curious to try some flats....I haven't used flats for...oh my God..20yrs by now..but I remember that the fingers movement was slower because of the flat strings surface... but the sound was okay. Maybe I sould try again... I just dont want to spoil the neck because of a different string tension...
