Now where did I stuff that advance money for the book . . . .
Go for it Paul! And don't forget to be a good boy, and play "Stay Clean" with it!
I think Paul is more of a "Love Me Like A Reptile" kind of fella.

Ha. just poted this in the Markeplace. I have #26. The last one I saw on eBay went for 14K, so I hope you get a sale.

For anyone considering it. If you can get the cash, get it. It really is more than just a pretty face, and way superior to any stock 4004 series bass.....

Fastest neck and heaviest growl of all the basses when cranked.

Good luck, Brian. I've sold a couple that pained me at the time, but they are just basses.

[quote="incubus2432"]Vet bills from a sick dog that didn't pull through, a new horse on the way and I'm still reeling from the log repairs on the house. It's not that I have to sell it but rather than incurring debt it is the smart move.

I have also had the dreaded Vet bill for a sick dog, & like you rather than get into debt I sold my Musicman Stingray. Even though I love my Ric if I had to it would have gone, the things we do for pets hope you get another Ric soon all the best.

I think someone put in an exploratory bid of $5Gs to see if that reached the reserve. Nope. Should be interesting!

I actually think the reserve is very reasonable......anything lower and I'll just hang on to it. I'm actually kinda surprised to see it over $5k so early.

Oh well.....bidding went to $6k and just died. That's my luck. Reserve was $6.5k so it got close at least.......like I've said a billion times these things are all over the place value wise. I have no idea if it's the mods or the fact that it's actually been played hurt the value or if the market is just not there.

I'll probably throw an ad up here and maybe toss it back on eBay again without a reserve and see how it goes.

I think a lot of people get scared off by an unknown reserve. They figure it's probably pretty close to the BIN and just wait for someone else to find the amount...
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

Brother,

A no reserve ebay auction sounds pretty scary to me. Perhaps lower your BIN and keep your reserve?? Sorry it did not sell, since you need the cash it would have provided.

In Europe it is a lousy time selling anything. We have to either lower price a lot or need an enormous amount of patience till the right buyer maybe comes along.

Personally, I like the mods, and would prefer a "played in" one, compared to a stock case queen.

But, as I've said many times, I'm a player not a collector.

So, buy it and play it! 8) Reasonably short drive for the two of you to meet up at say:

Pizza To Go
16 South Main Street

or perhaps:

Farmstad Restaurant
618 Ohio Route 61

Both in Marengo, Ohio
