5 string 4001 or 4003

Post by ricbass »

Dream of dream bass for me. That would be the best of both worlds. wouldn't need a second bass only for backup. Did Ric ever make 5 string basses or are they all customized? How do I get one? Will Ric make to order? If so, save the dough if possible these days.

Yes, they made the 4003S/5 and the 4004Cii/5. Both are discontinued now so the only option to get one it to find a used one. They do show up on ebay occasionally.

As for custom orders, unfortunately RIC is barely able to keep up with regular production and I've heard still has a bit of a backlog of orders. So, they really don't have the ability to take custom orders right now...
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

Thanks for remembering me Woody! 8)

I fear the only way we will get that done is to buy a used one and have the custom work done to it.
