Yes, that is exactly what the vintage tone switch does on the current 4003 basses. You can get the parts from RIC or a dealer; it can most certainly be used on guitars, too, not just basses. There are lots of possibilities if you are open to doing mods on your guitar.

Not yet. I'm a bit preoccupied with a health issue right now, so it's all in the planning stage. I might have my buddy, a pro who did the pickup install/routing, do it. I DO appreciate the time & trouble you guys invested! I'd like to see the push/push switch do something useful, hehe!

What would a .0047 do as a regular tone cap? You couldn't tell the difference, even if hardwired it to ground bypassing the tone pot. OK, you might hear a slight mellowing, but not much, if any at all.
