I 've replaced the Barts with the RIC pickups and if I can get a piece of maple to fill the route, I would put back the original bridge.
JETGLO should officially be renamed JETGLO ROCKS! :-)

Ted, is that 4008 as dark on the edges as it looks?

Yes, the 8 string is very dark around the edges. Believe it or not, the red on the '63 is nearly identical to the red on the others. I suspect the red pigments have not changed much in 40+ years.

I just wish it had full width crushed pearl inlays and it would be perfect!

Hey Ted,

How's your inlay experiments doing? Convinced the wife yet that you "need" a bass with the real thing to compare to?

I am waiting on some material but I think I have it worked out. Thanks for the pictures everyone. With them and a little help from DF I think I have it worked out. I will post pics as soon as there is something to show.

Love the depth in color on that that 71, Bob. You don't see many from that year. Nice basses, everyone!
