I've used Hercules as Mr Hall said they'd do fine, and I never had any problems. König & Meyer are okay as well.

Any stand that DOESN'T say Made in China is likely okay. However, I'm Hercules and some other perfectly good products are likely made in China as well, so it's a matter of trusting a manufacturer who cares enough about your finish to use materials that are non-reactive.

This is not limited to Rickenbacker finishes and, in fact, nitrocellulose and a number of other finishes are even more likely to react with plastic padding or supports.

As I've said before, clear or shiny tubing will be a problem. Soft surgical silicone tubing is great and generally there's no problem with neoprene, santoprene, polyurethane, or buna-N materials. Any type of gum rubber or vinyl, i.e. PVC will be a big problem, leading to plasticization of the finish.

I should add that sleeves or covers do very little to protect from underlying material that's destructive.
