The board is now off. Not without some hard work by Larry. The truss rod sticking out at the body end is very 63ish!

Looks like the was an old poor repair that filled the truss rods channels with glue. Everything has been cleaned out.

I am getting exited now!

You can be sure Larry will do a great job on this bass. It should look spectacular when finished, and it's great to see another old 60's bass being bought back to life.

Hi all,
Jeff this bass is a factory s model not a 4000. The routes are factory except for the enlargement of the bridge pickup route. Whoever was on trussrod channel duties in those days made them too long and bigger pickguards were needed to cover the routes.
Nice bass. Good luck with the resto.

On another note. Apologies to Andrew Winter & others for my failing to correspond in the past. I suffer from the black dog a bit.

Nah. The drummer does the kinky stuff. As is to be expected of drummers..

It doesn't look like I receive any PM.

Soho in Freo is a cool place! Never went to the Blues nights yet.
