I'd seen some layered binding like that on Ricks from time to time, but speckled throughout the '70s and '80s, not from the early sixties. Y'learn something new every day!

My hypothesis is that the body sat around for a year or so, and was used to fill an arbitrary order in '64, using whatever parts were on hand. Dig the F's huge roller saddles and weirdo saddle retainer nuts too.

My bucket list of Ricks is shrinking, but the F series remains there.

I like the older style F-bodies, with the controls on the pickguard.

Me three. The later ones just don't do anything for me...no idea why.

Me four! Classy look, and to me, the body shape is more classic jazz body style than the second version.

I think the cutaway on the old style is more attractive.

Both styles are lovely. Wiring up a mid-'60s one would be a task.

I once saw one with a funky homemade wooden pickguard, IIRC it was new style -- but I still liked it!
