Help IDing an old guitar case..

Post by Smakutus »

Hey there,
I found a guitar case a couple weeks back and was wondering if any of you had seen one like this before?

It fits a Strat length wise but the body area is much wider. It's too short for a Explorer or Flying V... Some one told me he has one like it that fits a Kramer Randy Rhoads type shape guitar..

The neck pocket area is small and square shaped with a primitive looking cut.. On the inside top of the case the cloth is pillowed, as is the area where the guitar's body would lay.

I'm thinking it has to be from the 60's (the interior and the plastic handle) but I am stumped.. Could it be some odd ball Rickenbacker case?

Any other ideas?

Thanks,
Jeff

No idea but it's definitely not a Rickenbacker case.

Looks at least 30+ years old, judging by the hardware. Good luck.

Being wider, it might be for some sort of multi-neck steel guitar, but definitely not like any Rick case I've ever seen...
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

Dimensions please! One neck cutaway or two?

One cutaway for a neck.. It measures 40 1/2" long, 15 1/2" wide.. This Washburn guitar looks like it fits it but it moves when you close the case and lift it.. so it has to be for a thicker body too.
