Adjustment of toaster pickups

Post by Hotzenplotz »

Owning a 330/6 with two 7,4k toaster pu's I started to wonder which is the recommended space between the top of the toasters and the strings. My guitar already sounds fine but sometimes it is not bad to think fresh fron the start, IMHO.

Are there any factory specs?

I'm sure the is a difference between the neck and the bridge pu. Right?

PS: The strings are 011 TI flats.

My 330/6 with scatterwound toasters has the following string to pickup measurements:

Bridge: 6 mm bass side; 4 mm treble side;
Neck: 9 mm bass side; 7 mm treble side.

The guitar has even volume across the strings and between the pickups, and sounds great to my ear.
Edit: I'm using D'addario XL Regular Light .010 - .046

Thank You!

Actually I play this:
Bridge: 5mm bass side: 3,5 mm treble side
Neck: 6mm bass sinde; 4,5 mm treble side

Compared to Your measurements it seems to be a bit too close.

I take Your measurements as a recommendation and will give them a try.
