I have a 1974 Ric 450 and have played it happily for 10 years but would like to soup up the sound.
I recently replaced the 25 pots with 50s which has helped but it still lacks a fuller tone and 'bite'.
It has the standard 2 toaster pick ups. I'm absolutely not averse to the sacrilege of losing the original sound.
Don't get me wrong, I love the feel of the guitar and the action is perfect for my playing but I'd like to make some changes.
Any suggestions?

Welcome Chris! Cool guitar, I wouldn't have changed it. I hope you kept all the original parts so you can restore it! If you want something beefier, just get another guitar! I suppose you could put higains and a modern Rick wiring harness in it.
