For 6-string players they also offer a deliberately-greenish (according to the translated text) BlueBoy 330 -

And Montezuma Brown -

Wasn't there a Japanese cartoon character who had a 4003 bass in this Skyglo colour?

I've been thinking... It seems to me that Plumglo and Santa Ana Skyglo are just tints of Ruby and Midnight Blue which are regular production colours...

Is that true? Is it a different process finish on these models?

Perhaps someone from RIC will chime in with a definitive answer...

It seems to me that Skyglo is pretty close to some shades of Midnight Blue from the early '00s. Here's a 360-12 MID 2004 to compare:

Real close - the MB seems to have a bit of a metallic shimmer that the Skyglo doesn't.

Maybe the camera's not catching their exsquisite hue (which is often the case), or maybe I'm getting old and cranky  , BUT:

I'm not blown away by PG of SASG... :?
Watch those teeth, Marlin. I'm not sure we've properly sedated the beast . . .

These colors are almost impossible to photograph. It's the same new technology paint as used on the current Ruby but quite different as compared to the metallic colors in the past. Both of these colors, for lack of a better description, have an "electric" quality to them, sort of a glow or aura. The blue is distinctively different from Midnite.

For the record, neither the choice of colors or the names were ours- but rather selected by Yamano Music, according to their perception of the market in Japan.

The Furi Kuri bass was patterned after Yōji Enokido's own vintage Azureglo bass, that is, one of the original non-metallic blue instruments, although it is often rendered in the series as reflective.

I'm a sucker for a blue Ric - always been an Azureglo fan.

I actually prefer the new shade over MD - can't believe that they are Japan only.....

The 340 is also on the 'Bay already.

Does Google translate correctly in that the 360 in "Blueboy" will appear later, and that only 10 will be made? The colour must look great on a 360!
