The title says it all. The folks at Zymöl have now designed a new line guitar care products. This could be interesting!

The article states they've been checking out some Guitar/Bass related chat rooms and forums and that's how they found that many Musicians were using their polish on various instruments.

I would have to imagine they've been here as it gets discussed all of the time!

IIRC, they had a small booth at this past winter NAMM show, displaying their guitar care products.

I wonder if the guitar formula will actually be worse for Rics than the car formula, as so many guitar polishes can be.

When I talked to them at NAMM and mentioned being able to "build coats," they seemed to "get it." So, let's hope the guitar products are just as good...

I still have a big bottle of the car polish sitting about the place. I can't imagine how one could improve on that.

I'll be happy to try it...but it's going to be awhile since both my stepfather and I have a large blue bottle of the original (mine for my guitars, his for his cars).

I've been researching this stuff and here's what's in the Gloss Finish Restorer and Glaze:

#1 Carnauba 11%, Bees Wax 2%, Almond Meal, Mirco-Chalcedony Crystals, Shea Nut Butter, Coconut Oil, Propolis (derived from bees), Cetyl Cocoamide (derived from coconut oil) and FD&C Blue #1

And this is what's in the Fret and Finger Board Protectant:

Apricot Kernel Oil, Cocoa Butter, Coconut Oil, Cetyl Esters, Cetyl Cocoamide (derived from coconut oil), Cocoamide, Pure Peppermint Oil

I wonder if we could get confirmation that these ingredients are safe for Rick finishes. I've used the car wax with great results and wouldn't want to put anything potentially harmful on my bass.

On a side note, is it okay to use Dr. Stringfellow Lem Oil on the frets and fretboard? I remember Paul W. recommending it a while back, but then I recall someone saying that it's not the best since it has a form of petroleum in it. Not sure if that's true or not.
