OK, progress report, I got some tapewound strings on it and lowered the bridge according to Joey's web page. Both moves have created marked improvements from when I first got it. Much easier to play and I don't think I am going to have to mess with the truss rods as the action is now fine and sound is good with new strings. Will delve into the sure-to-be mess that is the jack plate and jacks soon, maybe this weekend, although Curtis Salgado is playing here tonight and tomorrow night so in between work and Curtis it may have to wait until next week!! :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

Thanks for all the tips so far. They are paying off.

Aaaron - hard to read but it looks like LK 1527 or LK 1327 on that rusted jackplate. Either could be correct for an Nov 72 jackplate.
