Watch those teeth, Marlin. I'm not sure we've properly sedated the beast . . .

I sold my Montezuma Brown last February and the person I sold it to had shoulder problems so he called me back offering me to take the bass at a very decent price.... I immediately said YES and she is back with me now!!! Honestly, how could I have done that to such a beautiful instrument, probably the nicest and richest finish ever produced by Ric, hands down in my opinion!!!

She 'forgave' me and we 'bonded' back together like in the old days!!!

I am so happy to have her back!

With the Ampeg rig, she truly shines even more now!

Stephane, glad to see you have your baby back in your hands! 8) Congrats, my friend :) I think the only bass I had let go many years ago (1997) that I wouldn't mind having back is my old 1984 Alembic Exploiter with flame koa top that I modded a bit: I replaced the stock Spoiler electronics with a VPF+Q switch, added a second TRS 1//4" jack to feed an external 12VDC power to power the preamp via the ring and the audio was delivered via the tip, and I added Sperzel locking tuning keys to bass. Oh yeah, I had the bass made into a fretless! It had it's original HSC, too.

Jeff and all,

Here are some pictures showing how beautiful she is... she has friends as you can notice too !

The pictures simply don't do justice to the Bass at all. The finish on those is wonderful, really well built! I had installed a bone nut on the beauty and really, a major upgrade. The sustain is awesome!

I compared with my 4003W, side by side, they have the same strings on them, same rig, same volume..... The 4003W was kinda 'shy' to be honest!!! The Montezuma Brown showed her how a Ric should sound!!! I could not belive the deepness of the Tone the Monty has compared to the 4003W, which, still sounds terrific in its own, totally different however!

The Montezuma Brown sounds so 'deeeeep' and powerful through the Ampeg Rig!!!!

BTW, the Lakland 44-64PJ sounds great too!!! The necks on those Lakland are soooo comfortable! I had the similar upgrades done on her as well ( bone nut ) and electronics upgrade too. My luthier told me he was impressed with the Rickenbacker electronics and components, well built!
