i'd love to see this as a regular production color - perhaps now that ruby's been discontinued...?

Doubtful. They don't want to **** off the loyal one-off market. I'd be less than pleased if I had just paid over $3K for a weird color, and then later saw it offered on all models.
Re: 4001C64/5 Mint BT One-Off
Not just a weird color (well I like it actually) but a factory done 4-2-5 conversion on a C64 that Jeff Rath would have done for a LOT less money. At least Jeff would have taken the time to convert the stock 4003 bridge hi-gain to a 5-pole pickup. Whomever shelled out $3600 for this bass had more dollars than sense. It'll probably hang unplayed next to other one-off Ricks in a glass case anyway.

The few people that shell out the ridiculous dollars just to be able to have something that's technically one of a kind. A regular member here was snatching a bunch of them up for a while, but I think he may have gotten off that kick.

THE LOYAL ONE-OFF MARKET.

If it's the same person that I'm thinking of, they've all been sold, most likely for a loss.

I think you're right. I've dealt with that person, and he's always been a good guy to me, so I didn't want to call him out... and more power to anyone who can boast a collection like that, but it's definitely too rich for my blood!stringsncords wrote:

I thought he still had them, just his move to the land of kiwis and sheep cured him of buying any others?
Re: 4001C64/5 Mint BT One-Off
I think we're thinking of two different people, both RRFers and both good dudes.
Re: 4001C64/5 Mint BT One-Off
Definitely different people. The guy who moved to the land of kiwis and sheep never snatched a "bunch" of them, though he did buy one from the other guy...jdogric12 wrote:I think we're thinking of two different people, both RRFers and both good dudes.
And in case anyone's wondering, no, he didn't buy this one...
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...
Re: 4001C64/5 Mint BT One-Off
So, how are things down there, CJ?
Re: 4001C64/5 Mint BT One-Off
Things are going well, Jeff. Been here a bit over 2 years now (hard to believe), pretty well settled in. There are a lot of things I miss about Montana, but there are a lot of things to like about NZ that make up for it!
