The Passing of Joe Flannery

Postby (hamilton_square) » Fri Apr 12, 2019 12:13 am

Tributes to the 'Secret Beatle' Joe Flannery who has died aged 87
"Members of The Beatles would sleep on the floor of Flannery's flat before they found fame"

He was the Beatles' booking manager from 1962-63 and was a lifelong friend and close confidant of Beatles manager Brian Epstein , who he had known from childhood. Joe, who was described as the "Secret Beatle", would continue to share his first-hand experience of the band's formative years with fans from all over the world. Right up until his death, he had been planning to travel to Norway to take part in a Beatles' convention there.

Peter I am so very sorry to hear this. Joe Flannery was most influential with regard to the Beatles' success. I can imagine that he will do the bookings for John and George when they are reunited in Heaven and once again provide them with a place to rest their weary heads.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm
