Agree that the color of the year makes a good promo. Developing the 5-string probably took a lot more effort than might be apparent, it's a fantastic bass. Getting that new bass bridge out is also a pretty big deal. (Wish they made a 5-string version.) A wide neck in the 600 series would be welcome.

Any of the things you just mentioned would great, the best thing they would have done since 2015.
It sounds like it's up to us Rickenbacker lovers to generate enthusiasm for their product because they're content with the, we're doing just fine, we're too busy, can't be bothered attitude!

What a surprise! They haven't done nothing worth mentioning since the 1993Plus came out.
Now that was a something to bring to the NAMM show!!
The new 4003S5 has come out since the 1993 Plus, and that was a pretty big deal.

"Do you mean, other than the 660?"

I remembered that right after posting! Let's make that an S version of the 660.

And a five string version of the new bass bridge for the new bass. The mute would be great, especially if they made a fretless version too.

No - that was my comments. Not a popular opinion, but fairly true!

If you're a true Rickenbacker lover, the RIC booth is not a snooze fest. It wasn't for me anyway.
Having fun with a lefty in the RIC NAMM office. Playing the wrong way right.

Have to say, nothing new, but I'd still love to see all those Rickenbackers (and pluck a few) just hanging in that booth!!

That's the Limited Edition (420 examples, IIRC) 4003AC.

Heaven forbid if we showed something new and exciting at NAMM- our backlog would increase from the current 18 months to 24 or 36!

The problem right now is that with essentially zero unemployment, nobody wants to work in a factory these days. If consumers would actually buy products that were entirely machine made, we'd be happy to give you all the new products and excitement one could possibly handle!

I work in a factory ... by choice. Its approximately my 4th career so I started somewhat late in life. Despite being in a minority, I still believe in Manufacturing in the United States.

There's always hand finishing of machined parts - even Hydrostatic Pumps, Motors and Transmissions. I dream in Fanuc G/M Code. (Actually, I'm kinda fond of Okumas but these days, it's mostly Mori Seikis and Mikinos)

The true Rickenbacker fan and loyalists are getting old and Beatles, Byrds, and Tom Petty fans are dying out. There will be a time coming, if you have no foresite that you will long for a "backlog"!!
