Montezuma Brown 4004Cii

Post by bosco64 »

If anybody wants to see a Monty Brown 4004Cii, here's a link: http://www.classicaxe.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=inve.showItemDetails&itemID=1261

The photo doesn't really do it justice, it's a real beauty. Unfortnately, it's sold, but another one was ordered before the end of last year.

I've seen this bass live and can attest to its beauty.

Hey Ron P - does that bass have walnut wings? I think MB would look great with them.

I was going to order a Cii 5 in BBR but than I saw the pic of the Cii 5 FG at NAMM and all I can do is think of that bass. And I don't own a FG so... I've been putting off calling Mike P because I just can't get it straight in my head! But a FG HAS to have walnut wings – I don’t like the shading on the headstock otherwise – part of my dilemma!

Beautiful bass that Cii MB!

Andy,

The wings are a "sandwich" of maple/walnut/maple. That's how they get that beautiful quilted look on the face and back of the bass. The layers are quite evident from the sides.

The bass in the photo belongs the owner of Classic Axe in Manassas, VA. It's a very small shop that deals in Ric, PRS, Heritage, G&L, Dean and a few other brands. Russ, the owner, is a very likeable guy who gives prompt attention and has a quick turnaround on setups. It's worth giving him a call if you want to get a Ric.

Andy,

I'm not Ron P. but I can tell you that it does have walnut wings and a finished fretboard. If I already didn't have a trans green 4004Cii, I would have jumped on that one. As Ron P. can attest, it is beautiful to gaze at in the flesh.

MB seems like a natural finish for a cii - if you know what I mean!
