Ok, somebody forward this thread to Geddy.....maybe we can make him "come back" to the RIC fold, you know, maybe him and JH can hook up and do a sig bass.....

If he only knew how much we cared... Image

I'd rather have my v68 than another "Geddy".

Call me strange but I'm not keen on all that carving. I realise it took a lot of very skilled work to produce, but it's borderline ugly to me.

Oopps ... well it's NOT Fireglo !!!! and it's still ugly, thanks for pointing that out Steve, my brains all scrambled from another Eggciting thread !!!

Apologies to all the Geddy - Lemmy fans.

I'll still take a v68 though !!! Image

I thought they (the 4004LK) were ugly at first but after I ordered one it really has come to grow on me and now I think it is the best looking Ric made (IMHO). I just can't wait to examine it up close.....hopefully soon Image

Jim, I am hoping for a v68 myself.
A Geddy model would more than likely be just a mid-70's Jetglo, so I don't see a need for a Geddy Signature model, just get a mid-70's Jetglo and put a Badass on it, and there you go! Unless the Geddy model is a 4080, then we're talking! Image

Hi Melissa, thanks for the vote on Geddy with his Rick.
About the "fret buzz is also your luthers friend" That was great! I've been playing roundwounds for many many years, and I have to admit that my frets are still in great shape. I've never had a problem. Even my fret board is in great shape. This Rick is made like a tank. I should consider myself lucky.
About strong opinions, what's wrong with that? Don't we all? Everyone has an opinion, why take it to heart and let it offend you? Agree to disagree. Like I said before, if we all had the same opinion, wouldn't it be a dull world?

Can you imagine Jaymi playing a "Lemmy" bass?

By the way, Look at the Geddy signature series Fender Jazz. It's just a copy of a 72 Jazz with a Badass bridge. I know this much, the Rick would be made much better. I have one of the Geddy Jazz basses. It's ok, but the quality doesn't come close to an old Jazz or any Rickenbacker. I also know that we're all wasting our time talking about Geddy comming back to Rick. However, he did come back to the Jazz after many years. I never thought he would stop playing the Wal. Stranger things have happened. There is always a possibility he may want that tone again. Chances are slim, but Lightning has struck the same place on a few occasions, hasn't it?

Plus, in a recent article he mentioned being on the hunt for an old 4000.
Keep your fingers crossed....

You know, I read that article. The question is, does he want it as a collectors item piece, or does he actually want it to play? Heck, look at all the other Ricks he has. All they are anymore is wall art. That's what I'm afraid this Rick would be.

Yeah Chris, I agree. I'm just hoping that a new (old)Rick would "rekindle his interest" if ya know what I mean!
