Pickguard for 4003

Post by T28 »

I just checked the pickguardian site for a 4003 pg in any variation of purple but did not see anything close.

Are there any other reputable companies that might do 4003 guards in a purplish color?

Why not have them make you one in clear plastic and just back-paint it with whatever purple shade you want. If you polish the edges they look even better.

Very nicely finished, and the polished edges do indeed look great

I used to order other pickguards from them.

I will never do business with them again.

The MORON I talked to insists the two piece pickguards (from the 1980-1986 models) are the only ones that rickenbacker has ever used.

Yep, polished edges on guards and even truss rod covers make them look a lot more finished and elegant. It's simple hand work, wet sanding them at the sink, and it doesn't take all that much time to go up through the grits and finally use polishing compound on a rag.

But literally there are photos, on Rickenbacker's own site, of their current one-piece pickguards...
