Ric 4004LK

Post by Col Bez »

Hi guys hope all is well, just wondering if anyone can help out.
I’m selling a bunch of my Ric basses 4001/ early 4003

But I have a Ric 4004 LK in 100% showroom never been touched condition along with all Ric paperwork as certification.

The thing is I really haven’t a clue what it’s worth nowadays , I don’t fancy putting it on eBay cos of scammers etc
Any help appreciated
Many thanks

Wow! That is super rare.
Interested to hear how you got it!

Ricresource says historical pricing according to what they have seen, based on a sample of three sales is:
min - $5769 average - $10324 max -$14000

Thanks for your kind reply and figures, I bought it many years ago from my closest friend but he never has played a note on any instrument but loved the carving and guitar , I asked him for first refusal if he ever wanted to sell it and the day arrived so I bought it and it’s never been touched since.
Through medical illnesses I can’t play guitars or basses anymore so thinking of off loading . It’s not a financial thing it just that seeing them tends to get me down , guess like having a Lamborghini on the drive with no driving license :)
I guess I’ll keep and pass it down as the value is similar to what I paid, I knew I paid over the odds but love it and being a rare Ric

Sorry to hear that you can no longer play because of medical reasons. That would really make me sad, too. Hope you're doing okay otherwise.

And yes, the 4004LK is one of the most beautiful instruments Rickenbacker has ever made, to my eyes.

Im normally loathe to recommend facebook, but right now the best place is a group on there called Rickenbacker Market Watch. Many heavy hitters are weighing in on things. The group has grown, so there are a few idiots who think a 2014 4003 MG is impressive, but they get put in their place pretty quick.

You mean their asking price is too high? I see used 4003 advertised for crazy prices in the 2500$ range on Facebook marketplace. I can get them for 1700 4003s and 1900 for 4003 new at my local shop. I don’t get it.

OP, convince us this is real please. Spidey sense is tingling in the wake of new scam tactics.

There is that. it's clear to see why prices have jumped for some and not for others :)

Would love the opportunity to get my hands on the 4004LK if it’s still available or if anyone else has one and willing to sell

Hi guys
I’m so sorry for the vast amount of email I’ve received about my Lemmy and not replied too. My sincere apologies to everyone but I’ve been seriously ill and for the foreseeable future.
My Lemmy is still as it was , never used and totally untouched.

Hope that everyone is well
