The Cramps and Southern Culture on the Skids are two great bands IMO. :)

uh yeah, but this is a timeless post!
I remember being 16 holding my realistic cassette recorder up to the TV for an hour...holding play and record down....while "Urgh" was on. Blew my mind and changed everything! These folks were part of that fabric.

Going with weird, I watched this band on Don Kirshner's Rock Concert in the mid-70's when I was a teenager: Sparks. I would wait until everyone was asleep, get up in the middle of the night, turn the TV on with really low volume so as not to wake anybody, get my ear right next to the speaker, and rock out.
