Two Pickup Questions

Post by K9-4026 »

Ricksters,

I'd like to know who you trust to rewind pickups, to change impedance. I may further desecrate my 4003S to run with a HG at the bridge, wound to 70's specs.

Second, what was the impedance range of that vintage Hi-Gain? Vintage HS? Do you reckon a new Hi-Gain wound to that impedance would deliver sonically?

Thanks much, y'all.

Gary Brawer and Ryan Lanthier in Berkeley (Ryan works for Gary).

Though tbh I would consider 70s specs to be a downgrade from the current high gain. They were around 8-9K IIRC, compared to today's ~11K.
