"Shallow" is probably a better term. As stated, the necks on the new 4005V's are very shallow (from to back) and reminiscent of the 60's 4005 necks. Very comfortable to play.
good to know that the correct word is 'shallow'....
Based on my experience, 1967 is the golden year for shallow necks at Rickenbacker. I have a 360 and a 4005 from that year and the respective necks are really so.

My experience matches this with the March '67 330 and February '67 4005WB I had. Both had the shallowest (front-to-back) necks I have ever played (to the best of my knowledge for this old fart ).
They must have been under special substances in 1967 at Rickenbacker
I have basses and guitars from 1966 and 1968….. necks are shallow too, but not THAT shallow as 1967s

I’d probably love a ‘67 then.
I'd be more than happy to let you have the 4005WB for free if I still had it.

A lot of people refer to a ‘thin’ neck as Fender Jazz-like, but to me that’s only thin at the nut, and not what I call thin at all (Especially given I don’t spend much time near the nut ). A thin neck to me is narrow all the way along and thin front to back.
Yeah to me side to side is width. Thin vs. thick I think of as front to back.

You really like an old Kramer with the alumin(i)um neck like the October '76 350B I had around 2012.
